Cornelia Parker: Cold Dark Matter, An Exploded View

The newly jessied-up Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester [and very nice it looks too] has opened with a marvellous – and I use the word advisedly – show by Cornelia Parker, part new work created for the gallery, part retrospective. And it’s stunning. Provocative. Political – in the widest, non-Party, non-partisan sense. Democratic. Engaging. Fun. Emotional. Intellectual. Just stunning.

Cornelia Parker was quite insistent that visitors to the Gallery should be able to take photographs, as long as they didn’t use flash. These photographs of the exhibits are by Molly Ernestine Boiling.
